A brick rear extension with a wide sliding opening, frameless walk-on glazing over the basement lightwell, and a mansard loft above.
The rear extension is brick, laid in stock brick with a plain parapet, and one wide sliding opening runs across most of it. The brick party walls either side were raised to match the existing house. Inside, the kitchen island and stools stand on a patterned tiled floor, with the dining table beyond.
Part of the terrace outside is frameless walk-on glazing. It drops daylight into the basement room below, where the bookshelves are visible from the garden, and a frameless glass balustrade guards the edge. The house already had a basement: it was dug deeper and extended, with new lightwells front and rear.
Above the extension is a mansard roof with dormer windows and its own glazed doors, adding a floor at the top of the house.
Indoors, an open-tread timber stair sits on a painted steel spine with a glass balustrade. A rooflight overhead and a tall black-framed window light it. Beside the bar counter, an antiqued mirror in a black grid faces the drinks shelf.
